Erika Herrera Diaz was born in Washington, DC, to Salvadoran parents from San Miguel, El Salvador. She currently serves as a Paralegal at the Law Office of David Ascencio, LLC, bringing a strong legal background and a deep commitment to serving the Hispanic community.
Erika earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in May 2024 from UDC David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC Law). She was inspired to pursue a legal career by her desire to address social injustices within the U.S. legal system, particularly those that disproportionately affect marginalized communities and individuals with limited resources.
Her areas of expertise include family law, landlord-tenant disputes, and wills. While studying at UDC Law, Erika was actively involved in community service programs, assisting minority groups, particularly the Central American community. She supported clients in navigating legal processes such as name changes, housing disputes, custody, and visitation cases.
Erika’s approach to working with clients is rooted in her passion for helping the Hispanic community. As the daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, she takes pride in using her legal skills to empower her community. Her commitment to providing accessible and high-quality legal services drives her to represent her clients with dedication and excellence.
One of Erika’s proudest achievements has been earning her law degree while raising her daughter, Nayellie, who remains her greatest motivation. From a young age, Erika helped her parents navigate complex systems like healthcare, taxes, and wills. These experiences shaped her desire to become a trusted and effective guide for others.
Outside of work, Erika enjoys spending time with her daughter and her two dogs, Chuli and Fufi. She loves exploring new experiences with Nayellie, including visiting new places, attending concerts, and trying food from different cultures.
With her dedication and unwavering commitment, Erika Herrera Diaz is determined to make a meaningful impact on the lives of her clients and her community.
My greatest reward is guiding our clients toward their dreams, helping them gain the legal status they deserve and empowering them to build a better future.
